Lilly Endowment Community Scholar
1999 LECS Scholar
Amber Trowbridge Mullin
Amber Trowbridge Mullin was
one of our first Lilly Endowment Community Scholars. She received the
scholarship in 1999. We love to keep up with our past “Scholars”, so here’s a
little update on Amber.
After graduating with honors
from Indiana University in 2003, Amber was hired at Edgewood Primary School as
a kindergarten teacher. For the past 12
years she taught kindergarten, first grade, and second grade. Amber took off
the year she had her daughter and the year before she started kindergarten to
be "just Mama." In 2008, Amber
received her masters from Indiana Wesleyan University in reading instruction,
and this year she accepted the position as a reading teacher for the Edgewood
primary and the intermediate schools.
Amber married her husband
Charles of now ten years in December of 2004.
They live on a farm in Gosport, and he is the owner of Mullin Equipment
in Spencer. In June of 2008 they had
their daughter Macy, their pride and joy! In her free time she enjoys reading
and spending time with her daughter.
Macy loves the arts, so Amber and her daughter paint, do pottery, attend
plays, and sing and dance. As a family,
they enjoy playing on the farm, traveling, and being with family. This past December the Mullin family had the
opportunity to travel to New York City to visit the Statue of Liberty, the
Metropolitan Museum of Art, and see the Nutcracker. This summer they are thrilled to be building
a new home in Parkview Estates in Spencer, and anticipate moving in this fall.
