The Owen County Community Foundation annually hosts their Scholarship Celebration to honor the Cloverdale and Owen Valley High School seniors who have applied for scholarships from the local charity and finalists and the recipient of the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship.

The annual event serves as a community gathering where the OCCF Board of Directors (past and present), donors who started funds at the OCCF, and local educators and administrators join with the scholarship applicants to celebrate educational achievement in Owen County.

One of the OCCF’s four core values is that “We value our children and want to help them succeed and be safe.” The evening’s program outlined how the commitment to that value drives the OCCF  support these scholarships, and many other youth grants including Spencer and Cloverdale preschool programs.

The Owen County Community Foundation has 39 scholarships that are offered to Owen County graduating high school seniors.  Many of these scholarships serve as everlasting memorials to individuals and former high schools in Owen County.
