Local High School Scholarships

The local community scholarships for graduating seniors are paid from OCCF funds that carry out the specific wishes of donors who want to support and promote educational achievement.The scholarship application period is now closed. Check back in late 2026for the 2026-27 scholarship application. The OCCF Scholarship portal is where you can manage all your account information and update applications. Post Secondary Scholarships

The postsecondary scholarships reward students who are continuing their education after high school or by welcoming students back to college or vocational school after some time away from academics. These scholarships also represent individual donor plans that range from an award for women returning to college to adults working their way through college. Postsecondary scholarship applications are currently not being accepted. Check back in late 2026 for the 2026-27 scholarship application for postsecondary students.

Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship

The Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Program is designed to help raise the level of educational attainment in Indiana, increase awareness of the beneficial roles Indiana community foundations can play in their communities, and encourage efforts of Lilly Endowment Community Scholars to engage with each other and with state leaders to improve the quality of life in Indiana.Key Elements of the Program:Full tuition, required fees and book stipends for four years. This does not pay for room, board, or travel expenses.Recipients may attend any public or private, Indiana four-year college or university accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Recipients must pursue undergraduate study in a baccalaureate program on a full-time basis. 143 scholarships are awarded annually. 
Scholarship CriteriaStudents must be on track to graduate and/or have a diploma from an accredited Indiana High School by June 30, 2027, and not prior to June 2026. The student must have a permanent address in Owen County -OR- attend and plan to graduate from Owen Valley High School.  By June 15, 2026 (i.e., the end of their junior year) the student must have a minimum cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.75 or higher. The student must have a minimum SAT score of 1100 or above -or- the ACT equivalent of a score 21 or higher. The SAT/ACT score must be available and verifiable at the time of the application deadline.
