Our Team

In mid-2020, Janet Rummel was selected by OCCF’s Board of Directors as the new President & CEO of our local charity. Janet is a ten-year resident of Owen County, and before joining our team, she served as Director of Community Initiatives at the Indiana University Center for Rural Engagement. Janet is the third executive to lead the OCCF in its 28-year history.

Karah graduated from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University - Bloomington in 2019 with a focus in marketing and professional sales. Karah is passionate about helping donors fulfill their philanthropic wishes, maintaining and improving the sustainability of the OCCF, and giving back to the community where she grew up.
Connie Murphy
Director of Community Engagement & Administration

Connie Murphy assumed the role of Director of Community Engagement & Administration at the Owen County Community Foundation in June 2025. Residing in Freedom, she has a loving husband and two adult sons. In addition to her role with the Foundation, Connie serves as a board member for the Freedom Community Center. She also contributes to Spencer Pride and has volunteered at the Historic Tivoli Theatre for over 10 years.
