O'Connor Family Fund Aids Summerfield Health Center

Established in 2017, the O'Connor Family Fund has grown exponentially and granted nearly $2,500 to patients.

In a youth philanthropy first for your OCCF, Owen Valley senior, Regan O'Connor, chose raising funds to establish a new fund as her Patriot Expo project. Patriot Expo is a multi-year project and write-up that all Owen Valley students are required to complete in order to graduate. Regan worked on various fund-raising efforts to create The O'Connor Family Fund to assist local Huntington's Disease (HD) patients with expenses for personal items and activities. The annual grant will go to Summerfield Health Care Center, a local facility that specializes in care of Huntington's Disease. This fund was created to honor her dad who suffered from Huntington's Disease and was a resident of this nursing home before his passing in 2017.
